Yeah, I said it. There was a Twitter kerfuffle (or is it kerfluffle?) yesterday about the potential demise of the Oxford comma, allegedly by the Oxford University Press. Turned out to be needless worrying...unfortunately. That unnecessary piece of punctuation just won't die.
As a journalist and devotee to greatness that is AP Style, I personally loathe the Oxford comma (except when it's absolutely necessary for clarity). My friend Cynthia sent me this awesome link to an LA Times article suggesting its replacement with a new usage: the Shatner Comma.
